Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Casablanca

Today, your driver will greet you at the airport and transfer you directly to your hotel in Casablanca where you will have a chance to rest and recover from your travels.  There is nothing planned for this day except for a group meet & greet at 7 PM, so you are free to arrive in Morocco at any time during the day.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
Meals Included: Breakfast

This morning after breakfast you will head up the coast to Rabat.  Here you will visit the ruins of the Roman town of Sala Colonia (also known as Chellah) which was settled in 40 AD.  Next you will venture into the walls of the Kasbah of the Udayas to stroll through its narrow blue and white streets and explore the old Medina before continuing on to the Blue city of Chefchaouen.  You’ll arrive here by mid afternoon and have time to explore this magical small city before returning to your riad for the evening.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Meknes

After breakfast, you will head to Meknes, another Imperial city. Your visit will begin by entering the old medina through the beautiful gate of Bab Mansour, which incorporates marble pillars that were moved from the Roman ruins of Volubilis.  Once inside the medina, you will visit the tomb of Sultan Moulay Ismail.  It was under his ruler’s reign from 1672 to 1727 that Meknes served its time as the capital of Morocco.  Next you will visit the impressive Agdal reservoir (built under the reign of Moulay Ismail) and Heri es-Souani, a former granary and stable that lay alongside the reservoir.  After exploring these sites, you’ll have free time to spend in El Hadim Square before returning to your riad for the night.

Day 4: Meknes – Volubilis – Fes

After breakfast, you will head to the Roman ruins of Volubilis.  Before the Romans came, Volubilis was an Amazigh city known as Oulili (pronounced wa-lee-lee) which dates back to the 3rd century B.C.  Although severely damaged by an earthquake in the 18th century and subsequently further damaged by Moulay Ismail’s architects (who used pieces to build the gates of the city of Meknes), it is still “an exceptionally well preserved example of a large Roman colonial town on the fringes of the Empire”, according to the UNESCO World Heritage listing.  The city was reclaimed by the local Amazigh tribes around 235 AD and it was near here in the 8th Century that Idriss I established the first dynasty of the Kingdom of Morocco.  After a guided tour of Volubilis, you will visit the nearby sacred city of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun which is home to the Idriss I’s tomb.  After visiting here, you will make the short drive to Fes where you will spend the night.

Day 5: Fes

This morning, your local city guide will meet you at your riad and take you on a guided tour of the city.  The tour will take you into the medina of Fez through Bab Boujloud (the Blue Gate), where you will discover the ancient streets and neighborhoods, as well as Al-Qarawaiyin University Founded in 864 AD and still in operation today, it holds the Guinness World Record for being the oldest continually operated university in the world. After discovering all that the Medina has to offer, you will be taken to get a high up panoramic view of the old city before returning to your riad for the evening.

Day 6: Fes – Erfoud
Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Today after breakfast, you will make your way to the desert.  You’ll travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains through Azrou (where the Atlas Monkeys are) and Midelt before arriving to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi, one of the great sand seas of the Sahara.  You’ll have time to relax and unwind from the day of driving before dinner is served.  Tonight you will stay in the Kasbah on the edge of the desert.

Day 7: Erfoud
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Today you will take a 4×4 tour of Erg Chebbi, home to the highest dunes of the Sahara.  You will visit a nomad family and the village of Gnawa musicians, Khamlia.  Enjoy the music while you eat Berber pizza for lunch.  Afterwards you will head back to the kasbah to relax and prepare for your camel trek.  Before sunset you will take your camels into the dunes to your Berber bivouac accommodations for the night.  Watch the sunset and the stars come out.  Dinner will be served before you retire to the warmth of your Berber tent.

Day 8: Erfoud – Dades

This morning you will be awoken by your camel guide before dawn so that you can witness the breathtaking beauty of the Saharan sunrise.  Afterwards, you will take your camels back to the kasbah on the edge of the dunes where breakfast will be served.  You will also be given a room where you can shower and prepare for your day.  After breakfast and showers, you will start the journey towards Marrakech.  On the way, you’ll stop to visit the ancient irrigation system that once brought water all the way from the Saghro Mountains to the desert.  Next, you will head to the town of Tinghir.  Here you will have a guided walk of the oasis palmeraie before heading to nearby Todgha Gorge.  You’ll have another opportunity to stretch your legs as you walk through the most impressive part of the gorge.  From here you will make the short drive to the Dades where you will stop for the night.

Day 9: Dades – Ouarzazate
Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Today, After breakfast, you will take the road of 1000 Kasbahs on your way to the city of Ouarzazate (pronounced: Wor-za-zet, also known as the Hollywood of Morocco).  Here you will have the option of experiencing a traditional Moroccan Hammam or take a backlot tour of one of the film studios.

Day 10: Ouarzazate – Taroudant
Meals Included: Breakfast

Today after breakfast, you will head through the Small Atlas Mountains to the bustling market town of Taroudant.  This small city is known for its two side-by-side souks.  You’ll have a guided tour of here before retiring to your accommodations for the evening.

Day 11: Taroudant – Agdz – Essaouira
Meals Included: Breakfast

After breakfast, you’ll make your way to the coast and to the laid-back city of Agadir.  You’re first stop will be Kasbah Oufella where you will get a panoramic view of the city.  Afterwards,  you will head down to visit the marina and the beach followed by a visit to Souk El Had, the largest market in the region.  When you’ve finished your visit of Agadir, you will head up the coast to the walled city of Essaouira, also known as Mogador from the Portuguese word meaning “wall”.  Archeological evidence shows that this area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, but the city as it is now was designed in the 18th century by the French engineer, Thédore Cornut.  On the way to Essaouira, you will see groves of Argan trees from which Morocco’s liquid gold (argan oil) is produced with the unique help of local goats.

Day 12: Essaouira – Marrakech
Meals Included: Breakfast

Today, you will have the whole day to explore the charming city of Essaouira.  At lunch time, wander down to the seaside to pick your lunch from the fresh catch of the day.  After lunch, explore the small, relaxed medina or sit at one of the many cafes and watch the people.  In the late afternoon, you will depart Essaouira and head to Marrakech.

Day 13: Marrakech

After breakfast, you will meet your local city guide who will show you all around Marrakech. Your tour will include visits to the old Ben Youssef Madrasa, El Badi Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the beautiful Koutoubia Mosque.  After you’ve visited these monuments, your guide will escort you to the souks of Marrakech to see how artisans still use traditional methods for their handicrafts today.  In the evening, after your tour, you will be free to explore the Medina and Jemaa El F’na on your own. 

Day 14: Transfer to Airport
Meals included: Breakfast

Today, you’ll have the morning on your own in Marrakech until it is time to depart for the airport.  You’ll arrive in plenty of time for your flight and your driver will wish you safe travels until your next visit to Morocco.

  1. Pick a scheduled departure date below.  Remember that the “departure date” is the first day in Morocco.  Flights ofter depart from the US the evening before your arrival in Morocco — keep that in mind when booking your flights.

  3. The Tour Coordinator for this trip will contact you to confirm your spot. Your tour coordinator will give you instructions regarding the payment of your deposit (30% of total trip cost).  Your seat is not guaranteed until your deposit has been received.
  4. After your deposit has been received, you will receive a “Welcome to Morocco” tour package with helpful information to prepare for you trip along with our liability waiver to be signed and returned to us prior to your tour departure.
  5. In order for the departures to be guaranteed, we require a minimum of 4 participants.  If the tour you booked does not have four participants, we will offer you the opportunity to convert your tour to a private one for an additional fee or we will refund your deposit in full.
  6. Should you need to cancel your reservation, you may be entitled to a refund of your deposit based on our cancellation policy outlined in our terms and conditions.  Contact us as soon as possible to receive the maximum refund.
