Enhance Your Visit to Marrakech with a Day Excursion

If you have a trip planned to Marrakech and you want to see a little bit more of Morocco, we offer several day trips.  These tours, like all of our others, are private and customizable.   A day excursion is an affordable option that includes private transportation with an experienced and knowledgable English speaking driver and will start and end at your riad or hotel.  Whether you want to spend the day at the beach or breathe the fresh airs of the mountains, you can count on us to provide friendly and reliable service.

Here are a few of our day excursion destinations:

Ait Ben Haddou

You and your driver will depart from your riad or hotel in Marrakech at 8:00AM to travel over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka path, reaching an altitude of nearly 7500 feet above sea level.   There will be plenty of stops for tea and photographs as you take in the breathtaking vistas before arriving at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou.  If this impressive ksar looks familiar, it is because it has starred (or at least made an appearance) in many movies and TV shows including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia,  and Game of Thrones.  You will have lunch at a local restaurant overlooking site before you head over for a closer look.  You’ll spend the rest of the day exploring the ksar where people still live and work today.  In the late afternoon, you’ll depart and head back to your riad or hotel in Marrakech.

Essaouira

Your driver will arrive at your riad or hotel in Marrakech at 8 AM to take you to the beach where you will visit the walled city of Essaouira, also known as Mogador from the Portuguese word meaning “wall”.  Archeological evidence shows that this area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, but the city as it is now was designed in the 18th century by the French engineer, Thédore Cornut.  On the way to Essaouira, you will see groves of Argan trees from which Morocco’s liquid gold (argan oil) is produced with the unique help of local goats.  You will arrive in the coastal city at 11:00 AM, just in time to make your way to the shore for a seafood lunch of freshly caught fish.  Afterwards, you will have the afternoon to discover this beautiful city.  You can explore on your own or if you prefer,we can arrange for a local city guide.  When you’ve finished exploring,  you will depart Essaouira and head back to your accommodation in Marrakech.

Ourika Valley

Looking for a relaxing day out of the city without a long drive?  This might be the ideal day trip for you!  Your driver will arrive at your riad or hotel in Marrakech for a 9 AM departure to Ourika Valley, located 1.5 hours outside of Marrakech.  On the way, you will see authentic 16^th and 17^th century Berber Villages in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains.  The sweeping vistas will include many agricultural terraces and unique reddish mountain landscapes. You will have lunch at a restaurant that is situated alongside the Ourika River.  After lunch, you will visit Setti Fatma to take in the beauty of the seven waterfalls.
